I always love working with clients looking for Palm Beach equestrian homes or a South Florida horse property. Horses are my passion, and it’s very rewarding to work with people who share a love of these magnificent creatures. There’s nothing like watching a first class race and seeing the power and intensity of a group of horses in peak training. However, that kind of intensity is hard to keep up, and horses have to retire from the track long before they’re at the end of their natural lives. As a dedicated horse lover, I’m committed to helping retired race horses find a “second career”.
South Florida Horse Property Owners Can Get Involved in TAKE2
That’s why I joined the board of the TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program in 2017. Since December 2018 I’ve been the vice president of the organization. TAKE2 works to find homes for retired race horses and encourages their owners to train them to compete as hunters and jumpers. The organization was founded in 2012, and TAKE2 horses competed in shows in New York (where it was founded), New Jersey, and Texas. Today, TAKE2 has over 300 shows in 23 states, competing in 10 of the 12 zones of the U.S. Equestrian Federation.
Florida is one of the states where TAKE2 horses compete, and the next competition will be held in August. Everyone from Palm Beach equestrian homes is invited to come to South Florida Hunter Jumper Association for a weekend of amazing horses. The show will take place on Saturday, August 10th and Sunday, August 11th. The next show will be at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center for ESP Summer II. The competition runs from Friday, August 16th through Sunday, August 18th. Visit PBIEC to see their full schedule.
TAKE2 also offers many thoroughbred retired race horses for sale. We work with a number of reputable stables to retrain and rehome our horses.
Visit TAKE2 online to see a full schedule of races, learn more about how to get involved, and find retired horses.
